Tour Details
Leaving Mexico City, we will visit Santa Maria Tonantzintla and San Francisco Acatepec where you will be aware of their beautiful Indigenist Baroque churches. Then we will admire the largest pyramid in the world in the archaeological zone of Cholula, and its 365 churches. Cholula is one of the nine Magical Towns of the state of Puebla, for having great tourist attractions, especially for its history, archeology, and evolving art seen in the different works of Talavera, its cozy and peaceful village atmosphere, its gastronomy, and its festivities full of tradition and mysticism.
We will continue to the Magic Town of Atlixco de las Flores, founded in 1579, where you can admire the view of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes which are impressive from all angles, especially when we see them a few kilometers away being one of the postcards with which Atlixco welcomes us. It is a unique town with a Novo-Hispanic heritage that will allow you to enjoy its Day of the Dead celebration by visiting the Valley of the Catrinas, a festival with several monumental figures alluding to these dates that will be installed in different parts of the Magic Town. You will walk through its pleasant streets and historic center to see the Municipal Palace in whose interior you will find the murals that tell its history, most of them by the artist Juan Manuel Martinez Caltenco; the kiosk, ex-convent of San Francisco, monumental clock and the wide staircase with its mural; during the tour you will also appreciate artistic works, as well as cultural numbers, you will find skulls, decorated skeletons and other elements that are several meters high, which were made by artisans of the area.
