Tour by the Sonora Desert "El Pinacate" departing from Hermosillo

We will depart from the city of Hermosillo to the Sonora desert highlighted in the Northwest of the country, it has spectacular landscapes, we will visit the Pinacate area, a part of the Sonoran Desert, besides knowing the Jesuit missions offered by the State of Sonora where we will leave from the city of Hermosillo to arrive first at the magical town of “Magdalena de Kino” is a picturesque Sonoran town, with historic landscapes and streets composed by stones, visit to the mission of San Ignacio de Caborica and Mausoleum of Padre Kino, then we will go to the Route of Missions Tubutama and Oquitoa, to then go to the town of Pitiquito Sonora, this town has the name of an Indian chief who died in a local church and here the Jesuit colonization movement that was presented in the State of Sonora, we will leave for “Puerto Peñasco” give free afternoon and lodging.

On the second day we will continue our journey through the desert and the missions of Sonora, where we will depart to Pinacate, Sonora desert region where we will first meet the Great Desert of Altar in which we will hike through this Sonoran desert to visit the famous Schuk Toak Museum, also known as the Pinacate Museum, later in the Sonoran Desert we will visit the "El Pinacate" Biosphere Reserve where we will arrive at the crater zone, "El Elegante" and "Cerro Colorado". After knowing El Pinacate, we will stop in Sonoyta, a border city of Sonora, to later arrive in Caborca ​​for lodging.

On the third day of our tour through the Sonoran Desert we will visit the Archaeological Zone "La Proveedora", recognized for its famous rock art (paintings on rocks which can be depicting animals, human figures, geometric figures, among others), as well we will know its contrast when visiting the Mission of Caborca, later a stop will be made in Santa Ana to eat (not included) and we will depart towards the city of Hermosillo.

  • Pinacate: Black beetle, large and with an unpleasant smell that grows in damp places, due to its presence that is why it is named Biosphere Reserve.
