Our first stop will be the church of the Virgins Sorrows (Maria). Afterward we will hit the highlights of the city. We will make our way to a pottery works shop to see the process in action. Atotonilco, is known as the Mexican Sistine Chapel because of all the pictorial art contained in the interior of this beautiful Sanctuary. Its founder was Father Luis Felipe Neri de Alfaro who dedicated the greater part of his life to carrying out this evangelist work, putting in the hands of the artist Miguel Antonio Martínez de Pocasangre the creation of murals depicting the Life and Passion of Christ.
