MEXICO CITY

MONARCH BUTTERFLY TOUR

06:45 hrs. Appointment at the Monument to the Revolution in front of the ISSSTE Offices. Later departure from Mexico City to Piedra Herrada in the State of Mexico to visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. Arrival at Piedra Herrada to visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary which every year travels from Canada 5,000 kilometers to spend the winter in Mexico. To get to the sanctuary we will make a walk through the forest and explain to us that the butterflies feed, how they reproduce, time of life, etc.

Continue to the Velo de Novia Waterfall which is an impressive waterfall that is fed by the San Juan stream. It receives this name because the forms that take its descent give the appearance of a huge white “Bride’s Veil”.

Later we will visit the Magic Town of Valle de Bravo where we can observe its main tourist attraction “The Lake of Valle de Bravo” in which you can currently practice water sports and enjoy incredible boat or yacht rides. Since 1947 it is part of the Valle de Bravo basin, when the dam of the same name was created to catch the water of the Avándaro River, which now gives its name to the lake and one of the adjacent towns.

Visit to the Parish of San Francisco de Asís considered the highest Temple of the State of Mexico and inside which it protects sculptural works of the 17th century. Its construction began in 1880 to be completed more than a century later in 1994.

Free time to enjoy the place as well as to make purchases of handicrafts.

Return of Valle de Bravo to Mexico City.

9:00 p.m. approximately. Arrival to the monument to the Revolution.
